My positions on the important issues can be summed up simply:
Protecting Our Families. Preserving Our Community. Promoting our Future.
What is wealth, power, or physical safety without health? We will build upon the successes of the Affordable Care Act to expand universal, comprehensive and efficient health care for all American families.
Guaranteed Parental Leave
Everything we do, we do for our families. And yet we are often not able to spend quality time with the ones we love when it is crucial and formative. We will create an environment of stability that will allow growing families to focus on the nurturing and early development of their newborn children.
Innovative Childcare Solutions
We will prioritize solutions for working parents to continue to care for their families and build their careers, while remaining secure in the knowledge that their children are receiving high-quality care.
One of the most important parts of a community is feeling like you have a voice. That is why we must focus on Voting Rights by putting more of an emphasis on ease of voting and on excitement for voting by making Election Day a national holiday or weekend.
Ensuring the Rights of All Citizens
Every single American, regardless of our race, religion, gender, socioeconomic background or sexual identity has the right to live their life the way they see fit. Safeguarding that right is at the core of any community where everyone has a secure pathway towards their own personal happiness.
Fight Poverty, not the Poor
A long hard look must be taken at the justice system and how it splinters our communities. We will fight against commercialization of prisons and lower the number of people jailed for non-violent crimes. We must stop this War on Poor instead continue the fight in the War on Poverty.
There is also a large portion of our workforce that has no desire to attend university, and they deserve stable and rewarding work. We have interstates, bridges, dams, airports, docks, and countless other elements of our infrastructure that are breaking down over decades of neglect and deferred maintenance. We will build a 50-state strategy to upgrade our Infrastructure, built by and for the best of America.
We will face the challenge of man-made climate change with innovative sustainable solutions. We want to be the innovators of the next big thing, not forced into dependence on other countries.
Tuition-Free Higher Education
A key to peace and happiness in the US is financial security. However, the average student leaves school with over $37,000 dollars in debt. Since our baseline education requirement for a financial security has shifted, so should our commitment, with 4 years of higher education or trade school available without tuition.
